Stand with Mike Lee in Defending American Energy Producers
Joe Biden in 2020 - “No more subsidies for fossil fuel industry. No more drilling on federal lands. No more drilling, including offshore. No ability for the oil industry to continue to drill, period. It ends.”
Make no mistake, Joe Biden has waged a relentless assault against the American Oil and Gas industry:
-Jan 2021 - Executive Order halting oil and gas leasing on federal land
-May 2021 - Biden Administration pressured big banks to divest from traditional energy investments
-June 2021 - Biden revoked permit and canceled the Keystone XL Pipeline
-August 2021 - Called on Russia and OPEC to increase production to counter rising prices instead of increasing domestic production
-August 2021 - Increased regulations and scrutiny to punish the fossil fuel industry
-Februrary 22, 2022 - On the eve of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Biden delayed issuing new oil and gas drilling permits on federal land.
In the Uintah Basin, our local Utah energy industry is waiting for the Biden Administration to issue a Record of Decision on the Uintah Basin Railway.
The top challengers in my Senate race voted for Joe Biden and are relying heavily on support from anti-American-energy Democrats in their campaigns. My challengers have been silent on Biden's assault on our American energy producers that has given Vladimir Putin every advantage he needed to invade Ukraine. Now this assault on American energy is also hurting Americans and fueling inflation. I have fought consistently for free markets, deregulation, and American strength, and I need your support.
Child Tax Credits for Pregnant Moms
The child tax credit is a societal statement to recognize the value that children bring to our country. The child tax credit also offsets the costs that parents make as they invest their time, effort, and money into raising the next generation. Parenthood begins long before birth, and the emotional and time investments that mothers give to their unborn children during the prenatal period is an important foundation for strong families. Utah recognizes the value of families more than anywhere else. In addition to adding to the benefits created by the current child tax credit, this bill will help protect life, support parents, and reduce the number of children born into poverty.
Senator Lee has consistently advocated for tax reforms that remove the distortions in the tax code that harm American families. In the Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017, Senator Lee joined with Senator Rubio to fight for an expanded child tax credit as part of President Trump’s signature tax cut.
Senator Lee recently partnered with Senator Daines to introduce a bill that would extend the child tax credit to expectant mothers.

Mike Lee recently shared his thoughts on school choice to add his voice to School Choice Week. Senator Lee has been a consistent advocate for supporting school choice and parent rights in education throughout his Senate career. You can read his full editorial here, but here are some of the highlights:
Lamentably, the federal government does not have much enthusiasm for school choice.
That cold shoulder toward school choice hurts low-income families the most. The thousands of federal dollars per low-income student throughout a K-12 education currently go to local public schools. This contributes to students, families and entire communities feeling trapped in schools that fail to provide the foundation they need to succeed. These school traps can rob children and parents of the best bet they have to break cycles of poverty and access opportunities.
Families are what make Utah great. In every choice from strollers to schooling, the well-being of the child is the parent’s primary concern. So, let’s put parents in charge. This bill is part of a movement in which parents are taking back choices that are rightfully theirs.
John Schilling, the president of the American Federation for Children, put it simply, saying, “Education funding is meant for educating children, not for protecting a particular institution. This bill directly empowers lower income families by funding students, not systems.”
Mike is backing these words up with action. He has introduced the Children Have Opportunities in Classrooms Everywhere Act, or CHOICE Act, in the Senate which would allow parents to choose to direct federal dollars to the public schools their children attend or to a 529 educational savings account to help cover the expenses of homeschooling, private school, trade school or college.

This bill is part of a movement in which parents are taking back choices that are rightfully theirs. But to keep this movement moving forward, we have to re-elect one of its strongest leaders to the U.S. Senate. If you support School Choice, please commit your support to re-elect Mike Lee for Senate today.

More than 100 elected officials, businesses and Utahns issue a joint statement supporting efforts that protect civil liberties and push back on federal government overreach:
“As business, elected and community leaders, as well as individuals who care deeply about civil liberties, we have been extremely concerned with the massive and unprecedented federal overreach we are currently witnessing.
“We are grateful for Senator Mike Lee, who is willing to stand up and fight back against the Biden administration’s attempt to force unwanted medical procedures on individuals regardless of their personal circumstances, to discharge upstanding members of our military who won’t bow to these mandates, to coerce private companies using our federal tax dollars, and to bully and threaten any who vocally disagree.
“We support Senator Lee’s recently introduced bills to push back against these coercive and unjust actions, and thank him for hearing our concerns as he represents us in Washington.”
